We build our own tools

Just like our grandparents used to craft their own tools in the workshop, we create our own to ensure we have complete control over our digital resources.

Culture

Being independent is not just about having the autonomy to decide and act, but also about having the ability to create and manage what we need without relying on third parties. This concept can be applied in many aspects, from building physical tools to managing digital resources.

Just as our grandparents built their own tools in their workshops years ago—because depending on the market was not the most viable option—today, we can apply this example to the digital world. Managing, communicating, and developing our own digital tools is essential, not only to be independent but to BELONG.

As you can imagine, 50 years ago, there was no “Easy” (or your preferred hardware store) around the corner. So, with ingenuity and skill, tools were crafted specifically for the needs at hand. This approach provided greater control over work, over what could be done with it, and, as a result, strengthened the sense of belonging.

Additionally, developing our own tools allows us to own our data. Contrary to what many believe, what we do online does not always belong to us. There are companies and platforms that collect, manage, and even monetize our information without giving us full control over it.

However, autonomy is not the only goal. Building our own tools also fosters a strong sense of belonging within the team. When developers actively participate in creating the solutions they use daily, they develop a greater commitment, pride, and connection with the company. This culture of continuous creation and improvement drives creativity and professional growth, enabling every team member to engage in key technology and innovation decisions.

Our Tools

With this mindset, we set out to develop tools that not only help us build Grava’s future but also prioritize pragmatism over bureaucracy. Our solutions are designed to solve real problems quickly and effectively, avoiding unnecessary processes that slow down development.

Instead of relying on rigid systems or complex structures, we focus on flexible and scalable tools that evolve alongside our challenges and goals. This is how we developed Grava Gestión and Horas, two essential tools that we believe make building the future possible:

Grava Gestión

A project management tool designed to plan, organize, and oversee tasks, resources, and timelines. Its main function is to facilitate team collaboration, ensuring that each member knows what to do, when, and how.

By allowing each team member to update their own objectives, the process of reporting progress becomes simpler, improving time management and task clarity.

Grava Horas

A key tool for time tracking and resource optimization. Its primary purpose is to record how much time each team member invests in specific tasks, projects, or objectives, providing a detailed view of productivity and operational costs.

This practice is essential for helping both developers and project leaders make informed decisions, improve processes, and optimize resources. Additionally, it contributes to better project planning and more accurate time estimation for future projects, as managers can gain a clearer understanding of how long each phase of a project takes.

By developing our own technology, we ensure that our solutions are efficient, secure, and aligned with our needs, without the restrictions imposed by third parties. This allows us to offer higher-quality products and services, drive innovation independently, and remain at the forefront of technological development.

Ultimately, we don’t just adopt technology, we create and continuously improve it, making sure that every tool we build brings us closer to a more efficient, collaborative, and sustainable future.

At Grava, we create more tools to be original.
