2020 changed the way we live. Overnight, the routines we once took for granted became impossible. Going to the gym, taking a yoga class, or training in a group suddenly became inaccessible. That’s when technology became a vital bridge to keep us moving.

In this context, at Grava we developed “Ness”, a platform that allowed people to continue training from home through live virtual classes where instructors could maintain direct contact with their students.

With an intuitive management system and a live streaming service, we enabled hundreds of people to keep up with their training, just one click away.

Ness also offered an all in one solution for managing schedules, registrations, and student tracking, all within an easy to use and intuitive platform.

Although lockdown eventually ended and gyms reopened, something had changed: the way we train evolved, opening a new door in the fitness world.

What technologies did we use?

Node.js:

Since Ness is built around live virtual classes, we needed the platform to be fast and efficient — and Node.js delivered. Its speed makes it ideal for real-time interactions, allowing data and responses to flow quickly between users and the server.

Angular:

Using this framework provided a smoother user experience and helped us build an intuitive, user-friendly platform.

Jitsi:

For live classes, we used Jitsi, an open-source service that enabled us to build and deploy secure video conferencing solutions.
