In a market full of options, innovation and creativity can make the difference. So, why does the industry take away individuals’ ability to be creative?

On Innovation and Creativity Day, we reconsider the role of the developer in the current industry:

Traditionally, software development has focused on meeting a list of functional requirements, ensuring that the system does what is expected of it. However, this approach can limit innovation and the ability to provide solutions that truly make a difference.

We believe that, despite the shift in the industry’s mindset, developers are still being asked to simply follow instructions and focus on the technical, when in fact, their creative reasoning should be encouraged.

Due to this issue, we believe it is crucial to recognize the role of creativity in driving innovation. We think that there needs to be an internal space for discussion that fosters this ability in our developers. Therefore, based on the open-source culture, we encourage our team to propose ideas, challenges, or conflicts that enable their creative reasoning.

When creativity is encouraged in problem-solving, teams can explore new ways to approach technical challenges, experiment with different approaches, and think outside the box.

This creativity is not only manifested in the design of the code but also in the way the problem itself is understood. Often, innovative solutions arise when the traditional way of solving a problem is questioned, and alternatives that offer additional value are sought.

For example, instead of simply developing a function that meets a specific requirement, a creative team might identify ways to improve the user experience, optimize performance, or even add unexpected features that solve problems users didn’t even know they had. This approach not only enhances the quality of the product but also generates software that better adapts to users’ needs.

Moreover, to achieve innovative solutions, it is essential that we not only focus on the immediate problems that need to be solved but also dedicate time to analyzing and implementing new technologies that, although they may seem emerging or unconventional at the moment, have the potential to transform the landscape in the future.

The key lies in maintaining an open mindset, being willing to experiment and adapt to changes, and understanding that the solutions of tomorrow begin to take shape today.
